Energy Management
In the current economic climate of higher and more volatile energy prices, the ability
to gain competitive advantages through improved procurement processes is essential.
Largest in UK
The UPA Online Energy Service is of the largest, most sophisticated electronic tendering platforms for gas and electricity in the UK. The system can tender for business across the UK and Europe wherever competition for supply exists.
The system designers have worked with both major energy buyers and suppliers to ensure that the operation of the system saves clients time and money.
Preperation
After thorough preparation by our data quality team, and analysis of the market, there
is a choice for energy buyers. They can choose the no 'hassle' approach to energy procurement were UPA will tender on their behalf, or if clients so wish they can carry
out their own online tendering. Whichever option is chosen the system will provide the following:-
- A central database for a complete list of all sites in a group which can be sub-divided into divisions for accounting and reporting, and/or tendering. The database contains the necessary, site connection, meter and consumption data.
- Create an on-line Bid Request which is instantly available to all suppliers.
- Enable suppliers to view and download the huge amounts of data required to tender for your supplies.
- Analyse complex tariffs including both group and individual site responses quickly and accurately.
- Provide a full audit trail of the suppliers' responses.
- Present easy to use summaries of all prices, by group, sub-group or site with monthly breakdowns to allow you to make informed decisions based not only on price but the all important effect on cash flow.
- Prices at or closer to the wholesale market with little or no 'risk premium' added usually have a very short validity; the system enables buyers to react quickly and to make instant decisions to take advantage of these prices.
The system has been designed to allow suppliers to respond with different pricing structures, and will provide real-time analysis of any pricing structure, providing a "like
for like" comparison for anything from an all-inclusive single rate, to a complex multi-rate Seasonal Time of Day (STOD) tariff.
The prices offered by suppliers are driven down through a competitive on-line
bidding process.
In Summary
Energy markets are becoming increasingly volatile and the key to successful
buying
is timing. The UPA Online Energy Service stores and continually updates
all, site connection, meter and consumption data, this along with good market intelligence enables both UPA and energy buyers to take advantage of favourable market conditions.
The system quickly analyses supplier quotes regardless of pricing structures, allowing you to make instant decisions based on price and cash flow. Suppliers in turn are able to offer prices closer to the wholesale energy prices.
